Sustainably made clothing has become a growing trend in the fashion space lately. Several brands have taken the initiative to reduce their customers’ carbon footprints by using the likes of vegan leather and plastic bottles to manufacture products like sneakers and coats.
One brand that has taken this mission to new heights is Thousand Fell. Creating a collection of classic white sneakers that are completely stain and odor-resistant, this brand’s mission is to “never send another sneaker to the landfill.”

Described to boast “yoga mat level comfort,” Thousand Fell’s sneakers are said to be “comfortable, breathable, stain and odor-resistant.”
The sneakers are made from responsibly sourced materials that can either be biodegraded, recycled to make new shoes, or upcycled into materials for other projects.

So, here’s how the magic is made. According to the brand, Thousand Fell’s shoes are created from a series of natural materials that ensure that they are ethically and sustainably produced.
Firstly, the soft-touch mesh sock liner on the inside of the shoes are made of aloe vera. This allows you to go completely sockless without the worry of odor or sweat. This material also creates a “soft-touch feel” and lends to a natural and sustainable way to combat bacteria and keep the sneakers fresh.
The sneaker’s leather-like uppers are made of recycled bottles — a material that can be used again and again. Several of the plastic component parts commonly found in footwear were replaced with coconut husks, which are said to be “a renewable source of stability and support.”
Sugar cane, palm leaf fibers, quartz, castor beans and natural and recycled rubber serve as the other main ingredients to make this sneaker what it is.

In an effort to combat the statistic that 97 percent of shoes end up in landfills, taking up to 1,000 years to decompose, Thousand Fell has pledged to “give sneakers a second life.”
The brand is doing this through a simple three-step process that allows both the planet and the shoppers to benefit.
Once shoppers feel like their pair has reached its endpoint and needs to be recycled, Thousand Feel will provide them with a shipping label to send the shoes back to the brand’s recycling facility. The shopper will then receive a $20 credit to their account towards a new pair of Thousand Fell sneakers.

Available in both men’s and women’s sizings, all of Thousand Fell’s sneakers retail for $120 and come in a choice of five back-label colors (white, black, blue, green or pink). They also come in two style options: lace-up or slip-on.
